Wow Chris, you absolutely reached escape velocity with this one. Not many race cars lived to
tell their story, let alone enduring a harsh climate. I like what you're doing with the car, did you
already have a floor pan? What steering box and wheel will you use? Guess we'll have to watch
this all unfold. Hats off to you for finding and saving this piece of history......

  2. the car was very cool as a race car, but crude. It had no floor/subframe in it when I bought it. I’m fairly sure it was just welded to the frame. So I bought a United Pacific complete floor and had Mark Codd install it. I’m lucky he lives 45 minutes away from me.
The plan for this car has always been to make a basic hot rod. I have a 283 mated to a 39 trans, I found that old heavy axle in a guys scrap pile, I have a 33/34 rear for it that Cory Talbert shortened the driveshaft and torque tube. Just a basic mid 50’s hotrod. The chop is perfect in my eyes and done very well. The paint rules, just do some fake n bake and drive it.
Wheels…either 16’s like what’s in it or I have a set of 15x6 Americans I’ve stashed for at least 10 years, not sure I could find a good looking tire that’s tall enough for 15’s on a high car tho…

I've seen the way you build stuff Chris and it will be perfect. I love the chop it has also, and am glad it was done well.
I built my 34 pickup a piece at a time, I have that 34 steering wheel on it you sold me. I think about you and all the
folks that helped me, every time I drive it.

Neat-o, Chris. Great work bringing that little jewel back to life.
I bet the original builder bought that '32 for $150 and drove it home back in the day.

Chris, you and your Son have done a super job.
Circa 1978, for one Ben Franklin, I bought a '32 3w chaneled over a '33 Studebaker frame. No axles or drive train, body only. Price included free delivery like the way you hauled your 5w. April 12, 2024 Rooftop Car Cruize Nite.JPG
No cancer but the reveal had a foot long cracks on each side.......strange ?
I pieced it back together with swap meet parts and a 307 SBC/slip n slide trans. A guy from Dallas bought it as a rough driver.
    Fun with old cars, Jim

The yellow paint is a perfect candidate for a cheap wax job…for some protection. Cheap auto wax has cleaners…fancy auto waxes need a special cleaner first.
