Long story short, I luckily discovered some missing parts for my oil pump while trying to prime the motor before getting it to fire off. This truck was a basket case and I have no idea how this was missed. Needless to say I have checked all bottom end parts since I dropped the pan. I'll post pics of the parts caption from the manual. My question is does anyone have these parts laying around or know where I can source them? I'm not sure if other size motors have the same setup. Mine is a 56 GMC 270 motor. I need the pump sending tube with the brass fittings on both ends and the brass fitting that screws into the block. Any help appreciated!!!
might see if you can edit your thread title and add "GMC 6" to it? Looks kind of different from Chevy, not surprising.
Took your advice with the tittle. Really hoping for some help on this one cause I'm dead in the water!
inline sixes (early) are some of the poor step children in the automotive world replacement parts wise. Jim Carter has no engine hard parts for GMC. The filling station doesn't show anything and rock Auto shows a few pieces but no oil pumps. Time for an edit!! Medo….If no one steps up I’ve got them, by the way the block fitting is steel not brass. The pump 90* is brass like the ones on the ends of the pressure feed tube.
Well good sir I will send you a private message here shortly. Can't thank you all enough for the help and guidance and kindness! Cheers!
So this post does not end in limbo for fellow HAMBers …. A deal and price for the above oil pump pressure feed tube to the block and block fitting was agreed upon and when the $$ is received Medo will be sent the parts.
I have an oil pump. The tubes went with the 2 270's I gave to Doug. They were still in the shortblocks.
