It was in Car Craft magazine. Not sure of date or year. upload_2024-1-1_16-6-41 (1).png 415790233_809691261168272_4670578097561683189_n.jpg f8e6_1.jpg

George "Whitey" Gould. He and a mate travelled in that T from Mass to Indy to volunteer for the NHRA Nationals in the early 60's. Us 3 Aussies spent time with Whitey on our Hot Rodders Tour of the US in 1966. He, Don Spinney and Fred Steele took us 3 to Hershey - what an eye-opener. There were no swap meets in Oz at that time.
Would have loved to check out this car but it was gone when we got there.

Here's my car, I started building it when I was 12(!)1973. I worked on other people's hot-rods to earn money to finish it, when I was a kid.. I got it running and driving in 1975, drove the wheels off of it, from St. louis, been driven to Florida twice, Daytona beach, Las Vegas, Oklahoma, Indy...It has a 440 Mopar engine, Brodix heads, roller cam. , 727, trans. The car has well over 100k miles on it now. first pic is when I was 15 years old, it was the 70's so nobody cared if I had a license. I wish I had build pictures of it, but I didn't take any. I re-did it in the early 80's made it a show car, still drove it. I was racing it at an outlaw track, up till two years ago. wheelies are fun!! This thing is NEVER on a trailer, (unless it breaks a stupid rocker arm) I drive it to the dragstrip(80 miles) Best pass with no bottle- 5.34 @122.81 mph. Come on haters yell at me for no cage or front brakes!! LOL doesn't need front brakes , it has a chute ! Doesn't get driven as much now, It doesn't get driven quite as much since we got the coupe finished, (I'm getting too old) hahahah thing rides great and goes down the highway like a champ. me and my kids put a jillion miles on it in the 80's-90's .. hard to believe it's been so long... filename-1 (1).jpg DSC04429.JPG DSC04452.JPG bonne terrre ty9uj.jpg

So what happened to those American "bearpaw" wheels, and Halibrands?

I was a stupid kid, the slicks went bald, no money to buy 16" tires, so i traded for some slots like a dumbass. my coupe has some bear paws now. yaay the front halibrands were loaners from my dad's friend. wish I would have left the car alone.. now it looks like an 80's abortion.. LOL

I've always been "in the closet" about liking t-buckets. I saw in an interview that @pwood is building one. It sounds exactly the style I would like if I was to build one.

If you like these old black and white car movies, I recommend this one to everyone. Its kind of cheesy at times, but a neat flick. Its on YouTube.

among the teen exploitation films this one is among the best of the bad. the blonde and the 'bucket are worth it alone.
