I've always seen this thing with some simple white scallops maybe outlined in maroon or something with the mandatory GMC Fisher Equipped along the bottom sides or something along those lines. Decided to get on the painters schedule sooner than later and I'm certainly no artist but he said to start laying out some ideas and we'll go from there so here is a rough, rough draft to get some ideas going.

Thinking the front 3 inches or so of the cowl is white and then need to figure out curvature and what not of tying the scallops together. Oh and don't forget each side needs to be the same....I always did suck at this artsy stuff but we're going for it anyway.

Looks like the artist should have no problem pull off what your vision is from there.

Took a break from art class and I hated to do it but put another leaf in the front to get the perch off the axle. Put it back on the ground to see how much it raised the front end. It is what it is but hopefully the front end doesn't come up on this thing.

With the GNRS going on...makes me think of the Albertson Olds car in the museum. Here's some additional information about it and worth a watch in my opinion.

Still plugging away on this thing and was able to get some scallops laid down on it. Still need to get them striped along with some mild lettering. Also knocking other things off the list like wiring, plumbing oil gauge, plug wires, etc...

Good to see mention of Joe Umphenour with respect to his in-liner endeavors & establishment of the National Nomad Club who also happens to be in the Colorado Racers Hall of Fame.

  9. What’s the story on the 3 2’s tunnel ram? Inquiring Inline Minds wanna know!

Clifford Research manufactured many 3-2 cast and tubing manifolds like you see in the back of the photo. Some had equalizing tubes or passages and some didn’t. None went into a common plenum like a tunnel ram.

I think a tunnel ram design is about optimum for an inline six drag car. Side draft tunnel rams may be better but carb choices with a downdraft are better, as is packaging in some cases.

Earlier this year we had the car lettered with just some simple "GMC Fisher Equipped" on the side panels and the scallops outlined in a maroon. I leaned heavily on my two brothers for thoughts and guidance on what to do because I suck at the artsy side of things...always have. I couldn't be happier with Beth's work and you can check out more of her awesomeness here.....https://www.lildamestripes.com/

And...with the help of so many....we finally breathed some life into this little GMC. I need to figure out the whole YouTube thing to be able to post videos here but here's a still shot of it running.

Great job, love the picture but a video would be great, you’ll get it done.

    Thanks for sharing.

I love the paint scheme you have chosen. On my (unpainted) avatar carI was planning the opposite - gunmetal grey scallops over a creamy base color, with red pinstriping.

Thank you Harv and I really appreciate all your information and input with this 420 pump and the fuel injection in general. You have been a great help for sure!!

Although Chassis Research was only around for a few years...here is a great video recently released by Brian Lohnes with an in depth look at Scotty Fenn and Chassis Research.
