Does anybody make quarter panels for a 59 Impala convertible? My bud has one and we want to fix the rust but I thought that maybe it would be easier to replace the whole thing if they make them. Any links or experience with this procedure will be appreciated. BB
This looks like it - from Sheman & Assoc. http://www.progressiveautomotive.com/Sheetmetal 59chevy.htm Check number 53 and 53A. Worth a phone call anyway... CARS Inc has repair panels, but not full quarters. ~Scotch~
check Cars, Inc, Impala Bob's, and Hubbard's Impala Parts. I think the rear quarters are the same for verts and sedans
I just bought a wrecked 59 Impala coupe. Tons of good parts, the 1/4's on the bottom were perfect so I cut the entire back half of the car off and all that stuff. Might be worth doing if you can find a coupe. Also 2-door sedans use the same sheetmetal from the bottom of the windows and down, so if you find a clean barn fresh 2-door Biscayne, the whole back half of the car is the same (even the trunk lid). Hey Bob, I got a line on a dude who bought out a bunch of patch panels from "back in the day". These are thicker gauge, better quality panels than the ones I've seen in the catalogs. I'll send you some info tonight.
