O/T, but of a similar rant, ever notice how many modern O/T cars have a name that ends with the letter "A". Think about it. Its no accident - there's a reason which I won't go into on here.
Second thought: Why were they called DASHboard? Why dash? It's a throwback to the horse and buggy days. The board at the front was to keep mud off of the p***engers in case the horses went off on a dash. .bjb

Cardboard. Traditionally used for templates, glove box liners, door and kick panel backing, insulation and sound deadener. Also used to bridge the gaps in seat covers under Mexican blanket upholstery in addition to being found in quicky body filler jobs and replacement broken window fillers. One that I have is boards bolted to metal stanchions that some PO welded in the holes in the bed. I'd always heard them called sideboards regardless if they were made out of boards, or hogwire or whatever was on hand that day in need. Thanks for the mention of Weldwood, I didnt think of it till later. And then there is the Boardroom, where the decision was made to axe some of the cars we grew to like.
