My 37 coupe came without a door lock cylinder - so I don't have an old one to reference. The reproduction one I ordered has the square shaft centered -- but I remember Dad saying that the door lock shaft was offset. I installed Altman Easy latches on the car and went to put the lock cylinder in the door and the spot on the latch for the square lock shaft is below center as viewed thru the hole in the door - so when the lock cylinder is installed in the door it misses the spot on the latch where it would go to lock and unlock the latch. Does an original Ford door lock cylinder have the square shaft at the 6 O'clock position ??????

I ended up mounting the latch a little bit higher in the door -- there was enough wiggle in the shaft of the door handle to go up just a little higher and enough droop in the shaft of the lock cylinder to hook up in the slightly higher position.
