I am looking for some lug nuts for my 48 ford. I am looking for the ones that the threads start a little ways in the nut not the ones that threads start at edge of nuts. When I put new studs in the hub, they were really too long and not enough theads, Thanks
The originals had the thread countersunk a little from the bottom. Maybe you should see if Third Gen Auto has exact reproductions of them.
Try Google and do a search: https://cwmoss.com/products/lug-nut-1932-48 More: https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/tr...nut-amp-studs/b-1012-lug-nuts-for-plain-wheel
Third Gen is also the continuation of the Roy Nacsweitz bolt reproduction business. If you want exact stuff, they are the source.
My suggestion is that you keep trying to get in touch with Michael at Third Gen. They do a lot of business, but if his wife, who usually answers the phone, is taking care of their young daughter, and Michael is in the shop re-building, sorting, packing and unpacking, it may be a minute before you get an answer. Keep trying, you'll be pleased with what you get.
Maybe it’s too late for me, but how does the start of the threads affect the operation of the nut? Edit: it just clicked, no need for a response.
how about spacers/taper seat for the lug nuts https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/product.htm?pid=976050&cat=41800
