Does anyone know if there is an online guide of the contents of issues of Street Rodder? I know Motortrend has started uploading the mags but they aren't back very far yet... I'm looking for '70s and '80s stuff, trying to find a few specific car features...
I don't think anything outside of the digital age will ever get scanned and put online by MotorTrend. There's just no man power to do it nor any desire monetarily. Last I heard, they didn't have an archivist and that's who would have handled such a task.
My comment was referring to Street Rodder, a now defunct publication that Motor Trend cares less than two sh*ts about. They're not going to put any effort into digitizing something that's dead and gone.
I didn't look very good at this, maybe it will help? I'll keep looking as I'm sure there's something out there. You may have to know what your looking for... http://99wspeedshop.com.s3-website-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/streetrodder.html
Dreamed for 50 years of getting a car featured in a rod mag. Finally made it in the 5th to the last issue ever published!
Three Lil' John Buttera builds - not really HAMB friendly...his white Model A roadster (feature in Aug '76 Rod Action), his dark red '32 3W (featured in Dec '79 Hot Rod) and his silver, twin turbo Buick powered silver Model A roadster (also in Hot Rod). Just looking for other features in other mags if there were any...
Yes it was - OR the one he first built and then sold to Corno that became the AMBR winner in 1980, not sure which...
Magfiend, you're a year too late. I started reading and subscribing to Street Rodder in 1972 and kept a written content of each issue for reference. Threw them all away last year along with the reference book. The only issue I kept was Number One, May 1972. That issue even featured a VW Bug.
If you can score a copy of Street Rodder, January 1977, it has a index inside from first issue to current......
I think every January issue after that had the past year index in it. (Street Rodder) I have them all...... somewhere lol
I'd have to dig mine out, but I'm certain it covered from first issue in '72 to December '76. In regards to Coddington builds, he built a Center Door T that McMullen purchased that was featured in '74, and another T sedan shown around '76, I think. Boyd was beardless, but still kinda a heavy guy.....
I maintain the 99wspeedshop.com website. I just saw this thread, sorry for the delayed response. At the end of June 2024, I added most of the table of contents pages to the Street Rodder cover images. I hope this is helpful to you!! Richard
