Ha-ha... Thanx, I like it too but I didn't choose the color; This car was painted in 1968... However, if I were to re-paint it, I'd keep it the same color.

  2. Just re-read your entire build thread. From where you started to where you are now has been a real journey!
Looking great, and I can't wait to see this thing when it is done. Almost there!

I have 205-75 15 on the front and I'm looking for 195-75 s in front. I think I'll change the rear lowering blocks fro 1" to 1/2" also. I should have my axle from Sid next week. I don't think I'll have much rake, but It's a little nose up right now.
    Yours looks good.

Generally quite a nice build. I know the sbc is the cheapest and easiest, that's why everyone uses them. But it firmly puts you car into a modern generic build. Same can be said with the off the shelf catalogue guages. I little bit more effort could of moved your car from generic, cheapest and easiest to an outstanding old school hot rod build that stands apart from all the others. Still a reasonably cool car though.

Actually, cheap and easy was exactly what I have been aiming for. Your complaints would be better stated if you had someone proof read it for you before you post it.

What color are you going for? If you already mentioned it I missed it.

  10. That would have to be the most patronising - unsolicited - assessment of someone's work I have read in a long time.:(

Don't let Capt. Misery get to you, I look forward to the paint!

By the way, BB is nearly finished his, so he'll be looking for some more blocking and painting activity. Get him while his muscle memory is still tuned in.;)

I love dark colors on big cars. It's slimming...they say. Can't wait for the afters.

  15. I'm with you on the Cheap and Easy part. However, we all know there is nothing Cheap or Easy about building a 40 Ford. All this progress your making makes me wish I could spend some time on mine. When friends ask me how it's going, I just say it's resting again. And so you know, those are just Shop Shoes so it rolls, nowhere close to what it will ware once done. I like Gray on a 40, makes a total understatement and draws people in for a closer inspection.

You sir, once again, are wearing your ass hat. You come on here constantly busting people's balls about their choice of power plant. Start showing your stuff to show how much Better it is or go crawl back in your hole Sally. Or Janet ,or whoever you are. Nice job on the 40 ! Sorry for the rant.

I looks well prepped and ready; don't rush it. I like 'metallic " paints on '40 s. It shows off the curves.

I heard the same thing on this forum. I had a 283, and now a 327 in my forty. Don’t get me wrong, I love nailheads, hemis, caddy’s, they’re all great, but a small block Chevy is exactly what I would have done when I was 17 years old. It’s your car, don’t sweat it.

I shot the coupe with Akzo’s Utech 500 single stage. It went down nicely but I’d recommend the enhancer to slow it down. I didn’t use it and I had to move quicky. IMG_3987.jpeg IMG_3985.jpeg

I am embarrassed and disgusted that you are from Australia - you write the same old dribble constantly.

    Agreed!

aussie57wag , You are one of those jerks that just has to try to get everyone to make a car that fits in your little box! If you don't like the way someone is building HIS car just keep your opinion to yourself! I know you will ignore this advice and will reply proudly that you are right and everyone else is wrong because that's the way your little mind works. We are tired of your drivel, please go somewhere else and share your wisdom.

newredporch, Your coupe looks great in gray!
