One of our favourite Suday morning runs is to Randy and Herbie Bayers shop. Randy is a long time member of the club Rods Inc and has his 36 Ford Coupe that resides in parts at the shop to be resotted back to its hot rod format in the future. So yesterday looked like rain but I ventured out in the roadster with no roof and trusting that it would be fine, and it was. Here are some photos that I took and I may add some later from FB posts by others. My roadster first.
In a FB post later in the morning Greg Thomsen gave a little history. The 3 cars in these pictures(repeated from above) are Greg's Tudor(one of many cars he has had) Tommy Fultons pickup that he had there yesterday, but he also has a tough 33 coupe with an ardun headed flathead ,and Peter Crains red 30/31 Tudor now rebuilt with new chassis, paint and trim. These 3 guys started Rods Inc 60 years ago this year when they were at school together and at 14 years old commenced the club. It is still going strong today with ts own clubrooms and many active members.
They are 56 Lincoln Premiere. That car was completed in 2012 and now I see those wheelcovers everywhere on hot rods. Not soo much in Australia as we really didn't get 56 Lincolns here in the day.
While this was a great event, and the cars are outstanding, I don't think it would be against any of the rules if you were to post a little more history on Rods Inc and the three guys who started it. You know, pics from then to now. I've seen the website, but unless I'm missing something, there is little on the club's origins.
