Hey Lloyd we are doing a couple of AD trucks at the shop, I can ask the owners if they have any use for the original gauges...

You can buy the parts to restore the factory gauges.

Working factory gauges are cool. Fill in what Chevy didn't supply with aftermarket stuff. Got a couple of 2'' gauges here for ya, if you need. Let me know.

I have some older aftermarket gauges laying around as well. Let me know if you need them.

Oh hell your a body man . Cut it up and install a different dash or at least gauge cluster from something else.
    I installed a 54 chevy car dash in a 89 s10. Get busy thinking. Good luck. :D
I always liked the 55 chevy car dash. I bought one at a swap meet . Waiting for the right vehicle to put it in.

That was the plan originally, but it wasn't my truck then, that's when it had 20" wheels on it lol... I had a full set of autometer gauges, but I sold em. I'll check into what James said about new faces.

Just let me know. Street rod guys put them fancy digital gauges in em, I'm sure there's a set laying in somebody's garage going to waste!

Got the running boards mounted today. Didn't get back under it to take pictures, because I'm fat and my knees hurt. I put a 48" section of 2" angle on the outer edge of both sides to stiffen them up. I need to add another support back by the rear fender, I'll get back on that in a few days. 20240212_171457.jpg 20240212_171440.jpg

  10. Hey Brother! Looks Sharp! We just won’t let Little? Truckdoctor step on them in Bowling Green!
The question mark is because I’m 6’2” 350 lbs and Little Truckdoctor is 6’3” and 280 lbs, and he’s only 14!!!!.

It's so low that you don't need to step on them! But it's good at the door, I didn't put a bracket at the rear, but if the push down on it at the rear it flexes the fender, so I'll make 2 more and stick them on. Still much better than paying $600 for brackets lol

This place is phenomenal for quality wire and accessories, super fast shipping and a flat rate $3.97 shipping no matter what you buy.

I just put all new cables in the J with the soldered ends they sell and just got an order in for the 41 for some 6 guage and ***orted ends.

Alan is sending me the cable, I moved on to some of the other things that need done until it gets here. Brakes is at the top of the list now lol... I need a friend to help me bleed them! I tried the gravity method, but nothing is moving.

Nothing, the arms are on it but there's no blades. They're just for looks anyway. I use rain-x religiously lol

Anything behind the wiper arms, or just the arms still attached to the cowl?

That hole looks like it’s in the perfect place to run some stacks!

As to brake bleeding, go to Harbor Freight and get one of those Mitymite vacuum pump knockoffs. It comes with hose and adapters to fit your bleed valves. East to use, loosen the bleeder, stick the adapter on it, pump the pump handle until you see fluid with no bubbles in the clear hose, close the bleeder and go to the next one. I usually try to gravity bleed mine first, rr first, the lr, then rf, ending at lf, then same pattern with the vacuum pump.

Big news!! I have brakes!! And the better news is the transmission works!!! I mounted the power steering pump, wired up the gas gauge, stuck a cheap oil pressure gauge inside, couldn't be more happy right now with the truck. Now I can move it around under its own power while I finish stuff. What a relief!! Couple of pictures for you ****ers too make fun of :p 20240213_191332.jpg 20240213_191337.jpg 20240213_191344.jpg 20240213_191405.jpg 20240213_191521.jpg 20240213_191629.jpg
