About 10 years ago I had a pretty major surgery. Rectal cancer. I was in the hospital for a week. The care I received from the nursing staff was fantastic. The things they had to do for me -- well all I can say is I will for ever be thankful to them.
You and your wife deserve every second of the nice weather and home.
