One of Bob Banning sponsored cars from his Dodge dealership. He also sponsored a Plymouth from his Plymouth dealership. One was driven by Tom Sneden and other by Dave Reitz, or sometimes by his son Bob Banning Jr.. Both were 426 Max Wedge engines. Below is a promotional hand out, previously posted also by @65pacecar himself in different thread.

There we go, Pee Wee Wallce again!

Edit: It was common for Pee Wee in one of his Virginian cars, one of Banning cars, one of the Big Red cars or a Sox and Martin car, to bump heads at several meets thru those years since we were all from mid Atlantic region. I know because I was involved in at least couple of them.

Thanks for the history, I love that era of drag racing.

Me too! I also liked the carry-on era from ’65 to ’75, when things got even wilder with the fuel burning fibergl*** bodied funny cars on non-prepped tracks .

I live in Sedalia MO. I worked for Bryant Motors when I moved here to Missouri 20 years ago, it was a fill in job before I found a Machinist job. I detailed cars, and sold a few. Bryant Motors is still in business, but the name and ownership changed about a year or two ago. It's now called W-K Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Sedalia. Bryant Motors was family owned until about 5 years ago or so. The front row now has some pretty cool new stuff, Challengers, Chargers, and sometimes a Viper will be there. Interesting fact, at least I think it's interesting. Dan Robinson bought Bryant Motors in the 40's, from the original owners who opened the business in 1936. The interesting fact is, Dan had three sons, Jack, Mike, and one that p***ed away at birth, all three boys were born on the same date, but different years. Dan Robinson lived into his 90's, and stayed healthy and active until his death, his two sons are doing well, and in there late 80's early 90's.

@65pacecar Very cool shot here. Early Gary Dyer/ mr norms car. Can't tell if it's the lighting but the front end doesn't look painted or doesn't have the dark blue. I don't see a blower but it might have super short stack injection. Only time I've seen the former Color Me Gone in mr norms garb still wearing magnesium 5 spokes.

Surprised the Hustler 1 was a polara 500 hardtop. One of the heavier models and prolly had a steel front end.
