I’ve been doing my best to instill the bug in my grandkids, they have been with me at car shows since they were little. They still go with me and they are both in high school. My granddaughter just sent me these pictures from welding class on Friday of her stick welding. My grandson is going the tuner route but I’m just glad he has the bug, he still loves old school hot rods and is always willing to help with the Corvette.
I try to insure that there will be by inviting ANY kid that is interested in my car to get in and sit in my roadster at shows. I also encourage their parents to get pictures of it so the kid will have something to remember it by.
The grandsons are always around in the garage being educated in the ways tools, welders and grease. Together with dads car and their bike at Greaserama and their Pinewood derby racers.
My only grandchild. She thinks the dune buggy is hers because it is so tiny. The second she got in there she started shifting gears then scooted forward so he feet could touch the pedals.
The lack of hearing protection bothers me the most from having young ones in the shop. We don't want out Grandkids to be deaf like us.
My kid is 20 years old and he owns a 32 ford coupe, he is building a 23 t bucket with a nailhead, and his daily driver is an off topic corvette that he built himself.
Have a 6 year old boy and daughter who is 5. Any chance they get they are out in the shed playing and tinkering. Sometimes they can be helpful, often it’s moving tools and parts to where I can’t find them. I love it though, would like to think they keep up the interest. They are handy to have on the end of the engine crane operating that/and also use it as a swing haha
