    If you're keepin' a tally, put me down for 4 x 16's too - 5 on 5.5.

From the response here you'd have a hit on your hands.

I sure am sad that only the Chevy Street Rodder guys make decisions because I'm looking for wheel replacements right now in the 16" flavor.

Those would look cool as hell on my car if they were taller.

i put my old artillery wheel set on my grandfathers 57 for safe keeping,
    man they are HEAVY!!

after the disc brake.10 bolt conversion, I was bummed to have to change them (53 suburban)

    those new ones look sharp!
    go with the 16s though, you'd sell a million, I'd buy 8 !

We get some of our aftermarket steel wheel centers from the same places that they do, but all the wire wheels and this artillary wheel are all ours. On the steel wheels we use mostly original centers and new outers, what wheels in particular were you talking about? I'll tell you which is which.

As for the chevy guys getting to make "decisions" on this it's because they pay $150 all the time for 15" artillarys at all the swap meets, more if you go to socal. The 16" version of the same wheel only goes for about $75 at swap meets, so we figure those guys would be the main buyers, but I thought you guys might like them too.

Heres the other type of wheel I was talking about.

This is a 49-51 Merc wheel that has been reversed and chromed and has the old style tapered outer on it. You can't see it real well in the picture but the out goes straight from the drop center to the edge of the rim instead of belling like new rims do. We're also going to start having our chrome guy do more of the bolt pattern area because people like to run these witout caps or with spider caps. We also left the valve stem hole in the back, it will make it hard to air up your tires, but thought it would be worth it because of how much better it looks Here's a bare one, you can see the taper better in this one. It's a 49-56 Ford center.

So what do you guys think of these? Like them or is the tapered outer something nobody really cares about?
    Thanks,
    Jimmy

Tally me up too for larger sizing. 16" and if you offered some even larger sizes like 17" or even 18", that might be neat. 16 for sure to keep it close to authentic though. Overall the look of the wheel is awesome. I too would like to see a pic without the cap.

  13. I'd order a set today if you had 16" available. There's a vacuum out there when it comes to 16" artillery wheels with modern lug spacing. Keep in mind that there are a lot more rodders that don't drive Chevys than do drive them. Offer the people what they want and they'll offer you what you want...money.

Jimmy, I think that a vast number of people out there are not really even aware what the original "Chrome Reverse" wheels looked like. I think that this will be the type of thing that will "catch on" with those people. Given the choice, I would definately go for a set proper chrome reverse wheels over a set of the more common version sold today.

I love REAL chrome reverse's. Getting harder to find at swaps that aren't bent and rusty.

Is you talking about the guys from Fremont? I think one is coming here thursday. Come on up with him and hang out if you have the time! Thanks for telling them about the wheels, we've been getting a lot of orders for them. By the way, Gary is my dad.
    Thanks,

After you mentioned this, we had our chrome guys do more of the bolt pattern area, not every little spot but they hit the high spots, it costs a little more. but makes it look a lot better. If they did the low spots too it would cost way too much. I'll try to get a picture up later.

I thought I'd bring this up again and let you guys know that we're working on a 16". We got the first one done but didn't like it so we're making a few changes to it and should be done in a couple of days. We will make them in 16x4, 4.5, 5.5, 6, 7, 8" or bigger.

Any updates or pics of the 16" artillery wheels. I'd be interested in a 4.5x16 and a 7x16 set, 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern. What is the minimum backspace you could do on a 7x16 ?

  25. I have 6 of these wheels...(2 are for a little trailer) and I love 'em...put police caps with 3 inch bullet with beauty rings and they look ***s...gonna run 'em on a 37 international d2 pickup that I am picking up...pardon the pun...thanks for the alliance discounts too
