One fine collection of parts assembled into a very fine car ! Congrats on your accomplishment Sir - well done
Not usually into the whole 60's style of hot rod build...but damn if this one isn't perfect. Very well done. Love that everything sticks to the 60's vibe.
Really a beautiful car . . . and normally I HATE anything green . . . but your particular combination looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing and congrats on getting it on the road!
I would assume that at some point, @mullskull , this kick ass ride, will have a custom dyed, green leather, hand sewn shift boot for it ?
Possibly.. At the moment it has a shiftboot made frome the same material the door panel and seats are made of....
Like others, I saw a couple of photos on the other threads and wanted to see more. I must say that I was drawn in firstly by the colour, - absolutely stunning, as per the rest of the car ! Thanks for posting, and on doing your own thread.
SO DAMNED COOL &WOW!!!!!!!!!!! Now this is what the GNRS is all about. Keeping that spirt of originality, (period perfectness)) and possibly instilling it in the younger generations interested in the hobby.
I've been staring at these pics for probably 30 minutes now soaking up all the details. I love the engine placement and how well the the firewall fits it. Great roadster!
Thanks!! I tweaked out on both of those details.. I didn't want to move the radiator forward or the body backwards..and also have the car serviceable, specifically being able to remove the distributor without having to pull the engine! so instead I trimmed the lip where the hood would normally sit, and recessed the firewall about 1.5" or so. The seams on the upper and lower firewall were reversed, the parts of the firewall that fit were installed, then the rest was pieced together. An insane amount of work & I'm happy you noticed!
I'm in the exact same situation with my build. On the first go around I made a firewall from scratch and cut a big half moon out of the upper cowl to achieve clearance, but I grew to despise the half moon cut out. I'll definitely be referencing your build while I formulate my revised plans.
I had considered doing something similar to the cowl.. but like you there was something about it that bugged me.. it was certainly functional, but lacked the form I wanted. I ended up getting a 90° bend 6" exhaust pipe and using sections of that for the area for the distributor, it worked perfectly.. keep your eyes peeled for my build thread.. I'll have all that info /photos in there .
Thanks for posting - one of my absolute fave cars at the GNRS. On point with everything on the car. I took a bunch of photos for inspiration for a Model A coupe I hope to start after the dragster is done and dialed in. Congrats!
oh nice, I saw your car in one of the GNRS coverage threads and I was like: wow, that is a killer green hot rod. You should be very proud of your work, that is a gorgeous car. -Woog
Very Cool car - Kind of made me rethink my opinion on green - Oh and some neat items on your website!
This one definitely checks all the boxes. It's a hardcore hot rod built to very high levels, grabs your attention right away and just doesn't let go. Very well done, thanks for sharing.
