  1. I wanted to see the grill shell on, while the front suspension pieces were still on..

Need to come up with a new insert design. He has always called this the
    '27 DodgeBrothers depot hack.
I call it the quick disconnect rdstr.
I'll be thinking on a new design, now that this is highly politicized and will be easily, misconstrued. But was semi innocent, when Norm first thought of the idea.

  3. After looking at the filler necks height, Norm wanted it angled and brought down as close as possible, to the top of the grille shell. It's been fun.. (Rolls eyes)

I still have some filing work to do, and then melt the top portion, back on. Things no one even notices. But that's the good stuff

  4. Bowtie overdrive, makes a kit for the 200 4r / 2G Rochester carb, configuration. But, I have to make something work for the stromberg's. Seriously, I don't like the look of the B O's adaptor, on an open engine setup. Not looking forward to figuring this all out. Wouldn't have this issue, if this thing has a clutch

  5. I needed to make a hiden pocket, to hold vehicle registration/ insurance papers.

    Here's the start of one..

  7. Ya, that would've been easier. But nothing on this car is easy. Not one thing. I don't think I should even be on this forum. I'm just a street rod guy. Need to find a suitable site to start posting

Call yourself what you want but the work you've posted is top notch AND worthy of this site. IMHO

  9. Appreciate that, but I do understand what the HAMB is really all about. I always feel like I'm pressing my luck, around here.

  11. This 65 is pretty straight forward. Shave a few things like the holes for the rocker moldings, marker lights an a couple emblems. Driver's lwr rear qtr needs some love. Fortunately, it's going all white.

  12. Not sure of the exact alloy of this aluminium. Welds horribly. So unfortunately, I'm unable to make this cover the way I envisioned. We're going with a design Norm, has devised. Tabs, dzuz fasteners and pop rivets.

I use a clear Pyrex Cup on my TIG and I can see the welds better, also had cataract surgery and it changed my welding as different as night and day at 82 I can still run a stack of dimes but before surgery my welds look like crap. I could not believe the difference it made

  14. I wear my reading glasses when I weld, so I assumed that was as good as it was going to get. But everything was still blurry. I didn't know about the magnifying lens for the helmet, itself. That changed everything, for me. So the lens, along with my glasses, really helped. The aluminum alloy is an unknown. It was given to Norm, by junkyard Ed, decades ago. It's nothing like the 3003 I've been working with.

  15. Made this tab to hold the Dzuz pad, while welding it to the chassis. In the process, I think I may have sanded off a coating on that same .032" aluminium stock, I was attempting to weld, earlier. That might could explain why it did, wut it dud..!

  16. I still think my original idea, would've been easier, but this was worth the experience. I know what not to do, unless I have to, with this design. Still have to design and fab a front piece

Went to the roadster show and looked at a some of the cars with aluminum floors. There was a lot of nice work there.

Not my favorite E-brake assy, but it's good practice, anyways.

  23. I really didn't know how this would look, once on there. I was skeptical, but I'm pleased with the outcome. Now to attach it and do the finishing work.

  24. I had to open things up a little wider with the file until everything cleared as it moved thru the full range of motion

Tomorrow, I'm jumping over to bending the hard lines for the fuel system. Need to get that done, while the engine is still sitting in the frame.

  27. When it came to attaching things together, making the spring tabs with a curve, to match the shape of the cover, yet having to keep the (straight) spring in proximity of the dzuz fastener, took more time than making the cover, itself. But it's on..
