It was a long process but it is finally done, 3 1/2" chop and all new easy eye/green tinted glass, instead of laying down or putting a different rear window I had the new glass cut, all the glass work was done by Classic Glass in Torrington, CT. I was very surprized that he even got the back side windows to roll down with the slanted posts, It's a shame all the car shows are over in this area this year. So I will just keep working on her and have it done for next year, has anyone used Rodboy interiors?
looks nice. got a nice straight on side shot? i want to see how the profile looks with the rear window slid forward instead of leaned down, i think this method looks better, less squashed looking. i don't know why more aren't done this way. i'll be whacking my 51 this winter the same way, but hardtopping it.
Almost forgot, about one year ago when I planned on chopping the roof allot of local people told me that you need to slice the roof down the middle and widen it and guys like "CHOPRODS" and many others on this site told me dont be a dumb ass and I want to thank all them for telling me to slide the roof forward, something I didnt think of, it's quite possible they saved me from ruining a good car.
I was told the same thing about cutting down the middle of the roof. I would like to see more pics of the process if you have them..
Turn out very nice, i dig verything about it. Can't wait to tear into my 54 this winter, well whatever we call a winter down here in Texas, Guess i should just say after the Paint and Piston deals in the first of November. Congrats again man
I remember seeing this one when you started...turned out great!! I love those chops that catch your eye, but are hard to tell exactly what's been changed 'cause it's so clean. Bryan
I'll add my vote, that's a real nice lookin' car. Look forward to seeing more pics. I wanna say, don't do anything else to it, I like the way it looks now--but it ain't my car, so
Not only are the vent windows functional but even the back windows go down, I never expected that with the slanted posts, here's some more photos http://www.PictureTrail.com/willys-a-gas
