I am in the development stage of a “B” Motor build for my ‘28 RPU. I’m going to be installing a Riley twin downdraft manifold but for the short term I want to block the rear one off. I saw that somebody had one for sale the other but I can’t remember who. I know that in a pinch I could make one but I would prefer to just buy one. Anybody know where I should go for this?

Is there any chance you could end up with some lean cylinders doing this?

The Riley is basically a plenum style intake with the carbs very close together. I made one very similar for my T (using Winfields) and am currently running on 1 carb with no noticeable spark plug color difference between front and rear cylinders. 2 carbs did run a bit stronger… but…

Check with Charlie Yapp at Secrets of Speed. His Scalded Dog banger speed parts include an "Equalizer" dual manifold that is supposed to work with either one or both carbs. He will readily share info if you call, text or e-mail. Contact info is on Secrets web page.

Many duel quad systems run Progressive on the rear carb from the factory. Personally I’ve run mine 7 years and never see a lean condition running or on the spark plugs; the system described should not have a problem.
