Can anyone ID the origin of these 15” wheels , I had them marked as mopar but they could be anything. The car has what I believe to be a 9” rear , but the axle centre boss is too big for a 49 type ford wheel to fit over.. The hub cap nubs while hard to measure accurately only being 3 are approximately 9” od. IMG_2845.jpeg

  5. The early Mopar wheels look like that but have clips for the hubcaps rather than nubs. I would think Studebaker as well.

He's saying they're 15 inch, did any Plymouths from 55-64 have 15" wheels? They do look like the ForwardLook wheels I have, but all of the ones I've ever found were 14's. Would these be the 55-56 specific wheels, post-clips but pre-14"?

Is there a pentastar stamped near the valve stem?

55-56 Mopar had 15" rims, but they had the tabs on the inside like this:

And since your rim doesn't have those rivetted tangs, I'd say it's not Mopar. I would personally believe they're utility or camper rims, since they often were made in the common 4x4.5 bolt pattern.

1955/56 Mopar cars had 15” wheels. 1957 ushered in the Big 3 switch to 14” for most of the passenger car models.

Not saying they are these. But the match is damn close. IMG_2493.jpeg

  13. They could also be Hudson. Hudson used dowel pins to locate the wheel and attached the wheel to the hub with lug bolts rather than studs and nuts.

I don’t see any of the holes that Chrysler products use for the aligning pin where ch helps a lot when bolts are used. I wish my OT German —- had them!
