  8. I think Chuck DeWitt's 50 Ford has the perfect Carson style top. The problem with almost all contemporary padded tops is they just set the rear window in the padding, I feel the rear window needs to be zipped in like an original folding top. If you look closely at Chuck's car you will see this. I believe all original Carson tops had this feature.

  10. You are sure right about that. The original version is one of my all-time favorites. I give the present owner a lot of credit for saving the car from the junkyard & then keeping it for decades. However, I sure wish he would have just restored it to how it was originally built.

Irontrap Garage recently posted an hour long discussion with Dave Martinez that includes padded tops.

Don’t know if it qualifies, but it’s removable. DB2B8F45-E6E7-4629-B92C-DE04C59B2FDB.jpeg

Can't find a picture of the Ken Gross 32 roadster. It had a bitchin Carson style top you don't often see on a 32 roadster.

  20. This one is not a Carson top, it is a padded removable top of a different "Modern Design". As is the one on the blue car above.

  25. The top is removable, I was referring to the fact it was not a genuine Carson top 20220724_153953.jpg
