Folks Of Interest Looking for pictures of the "Blair Bros. Spl." Raced at Bonneville in Class B competition coupe 1953

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Hitchhiker, Feb 25, 2024.

  1. So, on Friday I went and bought this and a few other parts. The person selling was the son-in-law and not a hot rodder. But he did tell me that the old guy raced at Bonneville in 1953. His name was Scott Blair.

Cue me looking at the November 1953 Hot Rod magazine article on the races at Bonneville that year....

Looks like the "Blair Bros. Spl." was a thing...so now I'm curious and trying to connect the dots. The family unfortunately doesn't have a lot of info. But I'd love to find some for them.

Yup, I knew Scotty fairly well. He used to come around for Kustom Klub parties and he pitted next to us in 1953.
As I recall he had a basically stock engine in the coupe but finally got it going around 115 mph.
I lost track of him when I left Seattle.

Yes, a 34 Ford coupe. Pale blue. Short individual spaghetti pipes. Beautiful sound when going past the timing stand. Sounded like it was going 200 mph...
