Features "Snoopy" Model A Hot Rod Survivor

Son of the 3rd Owner of Snoopy is converting old 8mm videos, Look at this Gem he just shared ! Third owners Wedding Day in 1970, one of the last times Snoopy was running, you can briefly see the garage it was stored in until the mid 1980's before it was moved to the garage I found it, in 2014. I edited the Video down to just show any clips with Snoopy in it & the 3rd owner goofing around near end of video.

This is a great story. It has me wanting to find the history of my model A hot rod. I know it’s a barn find also. How many more Hamber’s out there have barn finds?

The video is a great piece of history to add, and makes me even more glad that the car never got changed. Early on in this thread there were a lot of people advocating for some "upgrades" or "refinements" but I think anything like that would have taken away from what makes this particular car special.

 

What a story, now with video history! Makes that quirky little coupe another several degree's cooler! Awesome!

Don't think I ever mentioned my "lightbulb" moment I had following this conversation below back in 2019 after the St. Ignace MI Car Show, it was eating at me because the guy seemed really familiar, he commented that he had built "show cars" in the past etc., then it dawned on me afterwards, the guy who was admiring Snoopy in the parking lot was none other than famous custom car builder Chuck Miller !! And from everything I read about him, that would be his modest style, just loved hearing the history of my Car, said it was his favorite from the whole show, loved that I left it as built & that I drove it etc. a few days after, I said to myself "was that Chuck Miller ??", googled a picture of him & also confirmed he did visit the show that year ... wish I would have clued in at the time, but honoured that someone like him noticed Snoopy, a special moment indeed.

A special date today, 10 years ago today is when I was finally granted permission to come see Snoopy - and here is a picture I took on that evening, my first encounter - Wow 10 years !!

And now, 10 years ago today, August 23 was the day I went to pick Snoopy up from his long slumber, what a memorable day that was !

Been an amazing Fall, but the reality is November is around the corner, decided to take Snoopy to his winter nest this evening before the weather turned.
Here he is getting topped up with premium fuel along the way.

 

Man goes especially quick when the end of October is the end of fun season. Glad you’re out there putting miles on it
