I purchased n O/T Pontiac 26 years ago and the first thing I did was go purchase a set of Cragar S/S rims for it. Yes, they’re heavy, but the look is hard to beat. Completely changed the appearance of that car. I just recently purchased two 1963 Grand Prix’s, and if they didn’t have the factory 8 lug rims on them they would be getting a set of Cragar S/S rims asap.

  12. I've always liked them too. I had them on my 38 coupe, and the Wife's 69. Trying to teach her to change a tire on her car. I tried cutting off the OT part. lol She still loves the SS cragars the best. 281.jpg 087.jpg 403.jpg

  14. I sold these 15x4's to a local and he shipped them out to California to get re-chromed, they turned out pretty nice I think.

  17. That's why I had them and the reason he wanted them, I had a pair of 5x4.5 direct drill too. Those went to Canada to be put on a 40 chevy sedan drag car.

My three favorite wheels in the world are ET lll's, American Champ's and early Cragar SS with the round spokes. The ET lll's and American Champ's are being reproduced for approximately $600.00 a peice and I love them so much I gladly fork over the money. CRAGAR SS has always been affordable because they mass produced them to be that way and I am grateful for that but they changed the center's with a flatter spoke and even though I am glad they at least came out with something similar, they are not as perfect as they were. $300.00 to get the originals taken apart and redone is a steal compared to the cost of the other two I mentioned and not only do you get the real deal as new but from now on the originals won't be tossed like they have been for years. I feel these people re-doing these wheels have saved historic and loved wheels at a bargain. It's all in in each individual perspective but I personally revere the early CRAGAR SS the same as I do the First two I mentioned.
