Nice….but for the life of me, I can’t find the reason Chevrolet put green interiors in yellow cars. A buddy in high school had a BelAir hardtop with the same color combination he bought from the original owner, promptly painted it all white. 6 cylinder, 3 speed that soon got the heave ho also for a small block powerglide . Had to keep that right arm free for his girlfriend I guess.

It was a common thing. I had a 54 Mercury convertible and it was yellow with a green and cream interior.

This could work but that would be a lot of yellow.

Now I could live with this with any body color.

I like the old, different interior colors. I am so tired of modern car interiors in black, tan, or grey.

So, curious what other peoples' definition of "sleeper" is.
To me, if discussiong a tri-five Chevy, it better have something under the hood other than a 265, 283, etc, unless it's been blessed, meaning the car appears stock on the outside for the most part but has a snotty small block (or Big block) in it but most importantly it must have a (reasonably) quiet exhaust system.
Now, talking 40 Fords for example, to me, to be considered a sleeper, the same applys, but again, if it has a flathead in it, it better be a healthy flathead, now, if I owned it, it would have a snotty 327 (what else) in it.
    Thoughts?

  21. To me, a “sleeper” should look like a grocery getter with a surprise under the hood…
A few years ago I had a Triumph Spitfire with a 327/th350 and a Ford 9” rear. The small block fit with no bulge or scoop on the hood. The giveaway was the 15” rear wheels and the dual exhaust.
    Same body as a’65 Spitfire so I guess I can show a picture… FC3E1943-8BC8-4256-B7A4-43F3F5492A12.jpeg 4A78FC47-AEA1-43FA-9F5C-01C57A691F43.jpeg
