[ QUOTE ] hopes someone posts some more info soon. I"m curious as to how cheap things will sell for, cos it has to be real cheap for me to afford it. If It'd be worth it though I might be able to get a friend of mine with a big rig to go out there with me, if the stuff cheap enough. Anyone know if they are selling stuff off cheaper now, or are they still normally priced until the auction? [/ QUOTE ] well give this guy a call. the number is on page 1.
CLOSING??? What the*****??? I have been there and it is an incredible sight to see. There are VERY FEW yards left like this around this neck of the woods. I wonder if he is retiring? Government on his****? WTF?? Makes me cry... I would hope Richards would swoop in and******* some of that stuff, beins he is only 5 miles down the road.. Heart broken, -Abone.

I've been hearing that scrap of all types is the highest it's ever been right now. Expect more yards to suddenly decide to sell out and close. I just had a hard time saving some other stuff from a local scrapper due to price... BOY, I could sure use a '40 Ford passenger windshield/roof/cowl clip! If only I weren't 3000 miles away!
[ QUOTE ] hey z, how much 30's stuff was out there? Looks like mostly 40's & 50's stuff from the pics. I've meant to go cheka that place out for the past couple of years, but never had cos I always heard they wanted too much $$ for stuff. [/ QUOTE ] there mite have been 100 out off 3000 from the 30's. just odd cars and some trucks.
Man, that's awful! This guy's prices are reasonable, compared to Richard's. I was just by there New Year's Eve, picked up some F-100 front brakes for my rpu project. Damn! Hey, east Tenn. guys, you might want to check out Town & Country Auto Removal, Bethel, NC. Its just outside of Waynesville, near I-40. Its just a good, old, salvage yard, mostly '50's & '60's. I doubt he's in any danger of closing, 'cus his sons are working the place, too.
any PA boys up for a roadtrip?? my dad and I were just in this area a month ago.. its only a SHORT drive..
the paper i work for prints a regional bargain shopper called the iwanna and there was a full ad in there this week. been gonna get on here and post about it but this is the first chance i gotten since finding out on teusday. they will auction off parts cars starting at 10am friday march 5. completes, projects and a***** load of parts and shop equipment will be auctioned off at 10 am sat march 6. i'm probably only gonna be able to make it for the sat auction which is ok cause i'm after a '64 chevy pickup and a '59 ranchero he has that are going that day. i may still try to go friday but i doubt it. i don't think richard will be buying much as he's been trying to unload his place on someone for a coupla years now. rumor i here is his place may soon follow if business doesn't pick up. i think the government is on both their****es pretty bad to boot which is why no one wants to buy theplaces and which is why richards prices have went up a bit in the last few years. i don't have a trailer either but you tennesse and other fairly local guys it may be worth it to rent one from uhaul. i called a buddy who knows the owner a little better than i do and he said stuff is probably gonna go fairly cheap as what doesn't sell will be crushed. i asked about pully remaining good parts from non sold cars after the auction and was told probably not a chance, but not sure. it's sad to see this one go as this is one of my regular yards. not the best i've been to but pretty good. it will be a sad trip to make walking thru for a last time. oh yeah anyone coming from a distance all cars have to be removed by the 15th of march. i'll see if i can get someone to scan the a in the paper for me but i doubt i'll be able to. if anyone needs any other details post here or pm me and i'll see if i can answer any other questions...ken....
How is this autrocity being allowed to happen? If I had some spare time I'd like to fly out there and see what's what.
[ QUOTE ] t [/ QUOTE ] That trailer is a Mullins trailer... and worth some bucks. It's like the '32 Ford of luggage trailers... they make fiberglass replicas... but an original would be****ts. it is missing the top, which makes the whole package look streamlined. Sam.

Man! It's a sad day i tell ya...I hear about this***** happenning every once in a while and it just breaks my heart... ...It's seems like that yard's been there for a long, long time...who's it hurting? What's the government's prob? Most likely gettin rid of the yard in the name of "progress". This is the same progress that got rid of the outdoor in my town and turned it into a supermarket....Goddamned EPA....wish i could get down there and save at least one...bad time of the year and I'm broke...shit! Gotta buddy whose a truck driver, maybea i could talk real nice like to him....hmmmmm...thanks for the post anyways man...then maybea some of 'em can be spared...
[ QUOTE ] Did you happen to see any '35 or '36 Ford coupes or cabriolets? [/ QUOTE ] hahahahaahahah thats funny. you should open for carot top.
i read this post last night and realized i didnt live but about an hour and a half away from it, so me and my dad rode out there today and looked around. the guy said the cars are $450 a piece and $225 on the auction days so i****ume that the auction starts at $225. we looked around for about 2 hours and took a few pictures.ill try to post them. were planning on going back next saturday and buying one or two.
