Anyone interested in this post,I just took in trade a version 2 Streetmaster like the one in post# 14 complete with chrome filler tube and cap.I also have a real clean ready to run Carter Competition Series 9605 and Carter Strip Kit in classifieds that would make a great "Ol Skool" combo with the intake, send pm if interested.

I installed an Edelbrock Streetmaster manifold on my 1973 Z-28 Camaro (350c.i. engine) in 1974 or '75. I remember the "features" being increased intake velocity via a step-wise pattern cast into the intake runners and tapered intake runners. This was designed to give better off-idle and low rpm throttle response. It was supposed to improve fuel mileage as well due to increased intake velocity through the step-wise interior of each intake runner and the jet like effect of a nozzle as the intake runners taper as they get closer to the cylinder heads. I remember when I installed the Streetmaster, that I was kind of bummed to see how much smaller the end of the intake runner was compared to the the intake ports on the heads. The steps were also supposed to smooth out idle, especially with hotter cams, by preventing blowback to the carb/intake during overlap of the intake and exhaust valves opening and closing which causes reverse pulses in the intake flow. In effect, the car had awesome off-throttle response and low and mid-range response, but, it ran out of breath at higher rpm and made the car feel like it was being choked.

  3. You still wouldn't happen to have this intake, would you?
    Thanks.

The Streetmaster was marketed as an intake that would give you significantlu better fuel mileage. I installed one with a Quadrajet in summer of 1975 on a virtually new 1974 Chev Caprice that had a 400- 2bbl. The 2 bbl was a hog on fuel. It made a huge difference in mileage. Not sure the HP or Torque was much better though.

Good morning all. Would anyone happen to have a part number for the correct gaskets needed to run this intake manifold? Or, will a set of standard gaskets work? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Google hasn't been much help. Thank you.

It's just a standard port layout, stock size port gasket. Stock works, pick your brand.
