That's really cool. I do have a 3-D printer and wondered about how strong this plastic would be to use in metal shaping. This answers my question. Last year I started to play around with a profile to fit the shape of fender arch on my 32 5 to create new ones. Once I got a small flat profile to match I used that shape to create a revolve boss to form a die just for shits and giggles. I haven't tried it out yet but later I will do some experimenting.

He will be up and running in may or june last time I talked to him. I am talking to him about reproduction panel for a non HAMB friendly car and using the video I post above.
Not sure if someone else made the part for him or he did it in house but he has a Tucker part made with this technology that he shows at the 8:40 mark of this video that was released 2 months ago.
That was working with the company that builds the machines. He put down a deposit to get his own machine and will be maybe offering his services to people like us for part making.
Anthony, do you use cold rolled steel or something that works better? I've read that "die steel" goes through an Aluminum Killed" process to make it stretch easier and have thought maybe "pickled and oiled" steel might be easier to work with too. Gary
I’m using regular cold rolled The pickled stuff seemed much easier but harder to get around my neck of the woods
The same data that was used to create this "DIE" (not a mold) has been done for years with "ren-shape" plastic via CNC. The end results are similar and there are several shops that regularly machine ren-shape.
