My father had a mobil garage in osterville ,ma. since 1946 when he sold the garage in '07 he took 2 years to go through everything and he had tons of nos stuff he gave away a bunch but a bunch went to the dump. I don't have a garage big enough, he built an 8 car garage at their new house and filled it with cars and parts and he even bought a container that's still full since he past last November,my mother is just sitting on everything. We don't speak so who knows what she will do with it all.

I would have loved to hear all the stories that were connected to all Paul's "Stuff."
It would have been fantastic. Sorry for the loss of your friend.

    I like that chopper bicycle.

  6. That is a great picture of Paul standing next to the 400 coupe. That is how I will remember Paul.

Paul was the best. He knew everyone and everything. He would ALWAYS stop and talk to me at every event we attended. He helped me a couple times when my roadster had no spark. I knew of Paul but I didn't KNOW Paul, I learned alot as soon as we were welcomed into his shop. He had his hands in all kinds of anything mechanical. His shop is exactly as I imagined it, just like mine but bigger and way more diverse.
@Robert J. Palmer , the midget was all hand made by Paul excluding the cowl and grill. It's sold along with most in the shop. The shoe box Ford is still available

Is his stuff going to an auction? I knew Paul a long time as I bought all of Fran Banister's engines and leftover parts.

  9. I met Paul at the Rockabilly Rumble in the early 2000s (2002 maybe?) through Doug Anderson, another cool guy who was always willing to help the young guys out who left us too soon!

Sorry to hear of his passing. He obviously enjoyed what he loved doing. I sometimes wonder what will happen to all my tools and stuff when it’s my turn.

Not Buick, and I'm pretty sure the Pontiac and Packard straight 8's were both flatheads.

That is interesting... At 1st glance, it looks like a really old-style cyl head w/ports & cyls cast en-bloc, that bolt to a separate crankcase. Also looks like 8 (probably exhaust) ports & 2 (probably intake) ports. Teens or 20's tech. Cam has a mid-dist gear. Gears kinda look like gear-drive for mid-teens. ??? Bottom 4 cam journals are... odd. ??? I'd like to know what it is/was, & see the rest of the parts for it, preferably assembled. :D .

Sad to read this, I didn't know Paul had passed on. I didn't know him well, but enjoyed the talks about the cars he restored. He was a Bentley / Rolls Royce mechanic in Boston and had some great stories about a kid that worked there before his standup career took off.

I knew when I looked in on this thread it would contain too many sad tales. I knew this same type guy, bought until there wasn't room left. A buddy asked about having our mutual friend build his car.
I replied " There ain't room in his shop to build a plastic model kit never mind a real one ."
When he passed, the burden, over 300 vehicles and a 60' by 120' building hoarded FULL, fell to his brother to deal with. To the point he has lost any enthusiasm for cars.
