Gents, need a little help! The Stovebolt 6 in my roadster project is equipped with a dual carb Offy intake, two Rochesters on it. The linkage that was on the car is the purpose built linkage that Speedway sells for this specific intake, however it doesn’t appear that is installed as was intended.
Anyone have info or photos on a dual carb offy intake showing how the linkage is intended to be installed?
Carbs are currently off for rebuild, only pic I hav is at a poor angle and doesn’t show the installation well. IMG_1558.png
    Thanks!

The linkage that Offenhauser supplied for this intake was just a solid rod, and not the best choice in my opinion. I helped a friend make a linkage setup for his using small heim style ends and a rod that pivoted on two supports fabricated out of strap iron that bolted under the carb holddown nuts closest to the valve cover.

The bent rod setup is reliable & easy if time is taken to get all surfaces clean & true. Not glamorous, but it works.

Thanks for the feedback, I think that going forward I’d like to improve on the setup that they supply with the manifold, short term however I’d like to try and make this linkage work as hav a bunch of other items to accomplish to get this thing on the road this spring.

Thanks for taking the time to post the pics, very helpful! Mine wasn’t installed quite the same as the original linkage from the pedal to the engine and thence up to the carb had been modified. A little surprised at the single bolt attachment at the carbs, but I see as designed as all the carb arm attachments are in line with the linkage from the pedal so that no torque is applied to the linkage, so the single bolt attachment kinda works. Still seems a little hokey though. My pedal linkage was attached by the previous owner to the forward arm about halfway between the rod and the attachment bolt as the linkage from the pedal comes up forward of the center intake port. Seems the resolution is to rearrange the pedal linkage to come up behind the center intake port to resolve any torque being applied to the linkage. Thanks, your pictures resolved my understanding as to how the supplied linkage was intended to function.

By the way, where’d the carb insulators come from? Appear to be phenolic type resin?

    They are standard factory issue.
