haha, sorry, posted pics in reverse. I couldn’t embed a video but was able to post a link. I cast more parts, those finned block off plates are done and I made a second return spring casting because I wanted to change the hole locations for the bolts. All turned out great. I was having some trouble with my foundry but ended up buying a new two stage regulator and now it works perfectly!!

I started building the run stand out of scrap too, that’s the next mission to complete. Then I’m going to bolt it up to that and start putting everything together to fire up. It’s hard for me to draw lines… I kinda want to polish the adapter now. It’s hard to stop.

I painted the oil pan to match but I may have found a chrome one for a 55.

I made a cope and drag for the valve cover castings but haven’t had time to finish those yet. Also started prepping the backing plates for paint.

-finally feeling better, still have the 100 day cough or whatever they call it but it’s subsiding.

Hands down I think this hemi is going to be my favorite engine out of all of them I own. I love the extended bell in my roadster but this Edmunds intake is special.. and these 55 imperial motors come packing 300 horse.

I’m planning to paint the valve covers that hot rod black which is matte. I had them in flat black primer and just like the look with the breather and my finned plug covers. The water pump is bright silver. I’ll run the pulleys and fan matte black too. Then Generator and brackets I’ll chrome. Lots of work to do, but this sure has been fun.

Girls come back this week so it’ll be a week before I can boogie on this some more… Winter turned 7 years old on the 10th, planning on having a party for her this weekend, so I have plenty to prep for. Don’t blink!! They grow up so fast.

You didn’t do anything wrong with the video, it doesn’t embed because if it’s under a certain amount of run time YouTube makes it a “short” and those won’t embed they only link

Not much to report but I wanted to share this… IMG_7117.jpeg
$118 from Walmart. Chrome 55-58 hemi oil pan. I had to see if it was worth it… far from perfect but decent enough I’m stoked!! It’s got some sanding scratches from bad prep work but all in areas you won’t see, up by the bolts.

I started to polish the adapter… regretting it a little bit... It didn’t look that bad until I started to cut into it and it’s got all kinds of stuff I have to sand out… but it’ll be worth it! Repeat after me….

Found some tail lights I might run vertically on the tail gate… 50 Buick. I need to make some housings or find a pair.. something like this or just some simple round 50 olds taillights… we will see.
    IMG_7330.jpeg
got the shoebox out and picked up the girls from school this week, it was 50 here on Tuesday and almost the same Wednesday. It’s been so nice it’s ridiculous… snapped this pic the other morning, like a frosty mug of root beer. IMG_7304.jpeg

still polishing the adapter, got most of the rough shit sanded out and I’m now just working on bringing it up to 320 so I can polish it to look like chrome… starting to put stuff on for the last time.

Awesome. I vote those tail lights vertical over the Pontiac’s for sure. Gives a 1958/ Weesner kinda vibe

Agree! They look rad canted... I may have to get another pair of these for my roadster I really like them.

I love shoeboxes so much but I don’t like the tail lights on other stuff haha, I don’t know what it is… I may even make my own bezel- machine one I can chrome and use the Buick lens… or a pair of 58 impala lenses in something similar.

My first thought was an oval cove sorta like on the back of bobs roadster but with out the lip/ surround. With the Buick lights and then put a concave piece of trim in it. I’m invisioning it being sorta like this local chevys grill. Cant remember what make the grill is out of though I’ve seen it done before. IMG_2330.jpeg

Tuck, those wheels look fucking amazing. I zoomed in and those pop. You are a much better painter than me and your color choice is spot on. Are you still thinking to stripe them?

    IMG_8024.jpeg IMG_8014.jpeg IMG_8018.jpeg IMG_8016.jpeg I clocked the valve stems with the F logo.. ha
Burger, I’m making a jig to hold a bugeler to stripe them so they’re the same- so far that’s the plan but…. I kinda like them with just the beanie cap and no rings too- man… they look so clean.

I scored this MOON tank today too! Came off an old drag boat. One more thing I can check off the list. Bitchen Fuel tank, Check

I’m gonna chrome the rusty rods and polish the cap, the cast supports I’ll bead blast. I hit the tank with acid and it brightened right up… some steel wool and it’ll look pretty good I think.

    @Tuck nice tank! I’m jealous!
What kind of acid did you use? I have an old spun aluminum tank that needs a serious cleaning
