    Hi,

Does anyone know if a windshield from a 1957 Chevy Bel Air will fit into a 1957 Pontiac Super Chief?

Also need to know if a 1957 Chevy gas tank will fit into a 1957 Pontiac.

Not for sure, but I'd be inclined to say yes on the windshield. Gas tank, no idea. Do you have access to a Hollander interchange manual? That would give you the info you're looking for, if nobody here can give you a definate answer. Sorry, not much help.

The W/S rubber we used to sell was for Chevy a Pontiac. Gas tank might fit but the fill tube will be different. Check the Tanks web site.

Anything will fit if you really want it to. No, the tank is not a direct swap. While some of the body is the same they are very different underneath.

I am looking at replacing the fuel tank in my 57 Star Chief, and have done some research, but not sure of difference if any with the Super Chief, which has a shorter frame.

CPR sells a somewhat generic steel tank to fit Pontiac/Buick/Olds of that era, and also sells on ebay:

The 53-54 Chevy tank is close but not the same, likely need custom straps and filler neck mods, may lose a gallon or so. It is available in stainless and there are some variations on filler neck location and tank depth out there.
    One example:

I would check dimensions carefully with your existing tank.

Hi. Thank everyone for the input. I really appreciate. Sounds like the Chevy windshield is a swap but don't risk the tank. Got it.

Many years ago I read an article that said the only difference between a 59 Chevy, Olds, Pontiac, Buick and a Cadillac windshield was the price.

Well........quick question based upon your name. It's not a Canadian Pontiac is it? If it is, the were basically Chevy's underneath also.

Ok from what I can tell from my 30th edition Hollander the answer is yes. The numbers match. I am listing both tri five Pontiac /and Chevy models and numbers. IMG_2063.jpeg IMG_2062.jpeg IMG_2059.jpeg

This is a very good question. The USA spec Pontiac and the Canadian spec Pontiac are entirely different cars, with the Canadian versions sharing a lot more with the Chevrolet than the US ones. If your car is a Canada-only market Pontiac, the tank may be the same. Unlikely the filler neck itself would be but the tank might be.
