I'm looking to have some rust repair done on my 56 Ranch Wagon. Any recommendations in Missouri, Illinois, or Iowa?

Unless you are personal friends with the owner, don't take it a regular body shop.. The insurance jobs always come first and your car will wait and wait and wait.

That is the main reason I'm asking for references. All the body shops in my area are collision only. None of them want to tackle rust repair.

. How true. As a former owner of a large bodyshop, production is the key as the low hourly labor rate the insurance companies pay for collision repairs doesn’t equate for street rod or cl***ic car repairs/restoration. Street rods or cl***ic car work is a specialty and production turns are out of the equation. This work takes time and slows down the “turns” thereby limiting a body shops’ ability to make a normal profit let alone immediate payment. Another limiting factor is we pay out of our pockets which usually limits what we can afford and limits the availability of work for the bodyshops. Best to find a spe******t and pay their rate. Usually, this is a bodyman that works on the side at home. Of course, the repairs then take time!

It is the same thing here in Turkey finding a reliable body shop, and the waiting time really kills me, I was always on the belief that, if I was in US these type of Jobs could be done easily but I can see that even in US this is not the case, can I ask if you undergo a full restoration for a 1956 Ford, with new panels pressed how long would it take roughly, I know that it can vary but still can you give a rough estimation.
