Hey Folks, I was told there was a COE group on here. How do I find them? Sorry to be a pain, but I didn't see them when I did a search under COE or cab over. Thanks, Kirk
Thank you for your help....so far. Sorry to be a pain. It says I don't have privileages to post there. How do I get the privileages? I'm about to start building my '52 Chevy COE.
Go to the Antiquated Section. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/forums/the-antiquated.92/ Click on this ( search magnify glass ) along the Banner menu line Type in the search COE Trucks Walla - you will find a whole bunch of COE posts.
Keep in mind....You have to join any of the groups to view the comments in each particular group. No exactly sure why this is, but it is. Also if you are building one & need the preferred rear end (Dana 70)....I got one! God Bless Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...ar-transport-hauling-open-or-enclosed.614419/
That’s why I posted this instead ….. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/foru ms/the-antiquated.92/ Go to the Magnify Banner and type in COE Truck and walla there is a bunch of COE posts to enjoy ! Decent activity….
Cabover people... Obv. it is a White. My question is "Can you identify the year?" (Because I don't know)
Hey @23 Skidoo and @xtremek One of our fellow hamber's @Jamister1 is the go to guy, that can tell you all about those cool " WHITE TURTLE COE'S " I included his user name here, so possibly he will see this and respond. I am sure he can identify the year of that rig for you. Thanks from Dennis.
I would be lucky to get the cabover. Hoarders. & The neighbor with the fastest / easiest access doesn't want me to cut the single Cedar that is blocking a mostly clear extraction. I'm thinking... 1. Drop / disengage the drive shaft. 2. Remove the wheels & get new sneakers on them (cut off tires, laser or acid dip clean the wheels, replace wheel studs if needed). 3.Try to soak the hubs & free up any rust; need rolling wheels. 4. Cut Cedar out of the driver's side rear leaf / frame area. 5. Cut Cedar out from neighbor's access (I will offer a hundo & start from there). 6. If a roller, haul to my place around 25 miles W of this location. Also needs side & front glass. ...I have ideas that include stretching it into a 4 door, keeping the tilt cab functionality, adding A/C (this is Texas, after all), making it a 6×6 / adding a transfer case & slipping a Cummins 12v under that tilt w/ the back 2 seats having a shared center arm rest that goes over the engine. See, also: disc brakes all around, power steering, power windows, full seat belts. Uncertain on front bench or buckets. Big honkin' tach, full instrument cluster, psi boost readout, oil temp / pressure, RPM, trans & water temp, etc.
Biggest challenge to making it roll will likely be the brakes rusted solid. Been down that road... Best of luck, looks like a cool project!
Nothing 40 cans of P.B. Blaster can't overcome. Spray, walk away for a few days, lather... rinse... repeat 2 or 3×.
