that is called a waterfall intake.the intended purpose was to catch any carb gas leakes so they wouldnt drip on the exhaust and cause a fire.and it looks kool too....
Gringo i hate to be a pest how about pics of interior and engine.......Can`t get enough of that truck, also like that it is three window NICE.......
Nice truck, Chad. I know somebody that could hook you up with enough parts to build one of those. A sweet motor and everything, you just need a trans but that might be under way as well! S10 frame is cut to length and should be welded square by the end of the week, body mounts are designed, and rear axle is swapped. I'll try to post some pics of our progress!
I don't have any pics of the motor at the moment, it had a fresh 350 put in just before Billet'06, although, I can tell you it's pretty simple, shaved firewall and mild dressup motor, a/c, batt still mounted under the floor, etc..Looks nice, but not wild. Here is a pic of the interior in progress.
You ****...! I've been gettin the itch to build another one lately, but I've got the '71 to finish. There's never enough time or money...
Here's my old gem. I'm in the process of swapping to an s-10 frame. My truck was originally a 1 ton. I will be shortening the bed.
here is my gem in the rough, also in the process of fusing it to an S10 1985 pu. I have never seen it with the front fender picked it up this way. no rust Ed ke6bnl cant wait till I get it running as a daily driver and then go back to my 50 Ford F1 to do some serious body work and paint to.
Here is my 49 and my friend Jean. The truck is a constant work in progress. I've got a chopped top cab that I just got started on and will be on this truck............Sometime maybe
It is because everyone is posting on this thread: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=116075
I'll join the party. 1950 3100, 235 w/4 spd and closed drive. An actual barn find thats been parked since 1967. This photo is from the first drive around the block after going over the truck system by system.
My 52 still working on it getting bags in the near future. THE NEWER PICTURES ARE WITH THE CRHOME SMOOTHIES AND A LITTLE LOWER
Here's my recently acquired 55 Chevy 1st series. The P.O. said he gave $2k for it a little over a year ago. That seems a little high. I got it for half that. It needs cab corners and floor boards. The original drivetrain (engine # is on ***le) including open driveline is intact. It's too bad it is going on an S10 2wd reg cab LWB frame with a 1994 Caprice LT1/ 4L60E. I already picked up a wider S10 4x4 rear axle with 4.10 gears. I also recently acquired a better grill and a pretty nice tailgate at the Central Texas Swap meet at the Travis Co. Expo center a couple of weekends ago. I have a 55.5 big window, but have a good gate for it. I hadn't bought this truck yet, but the price was right. That is the way my projects usually work. I buy the parts, then find the truck to use them on. Notice that this truck and 54's have flat tops on the bed sides in addition to one piece windshields.
After a 14 month nap the thread is alive and I never managed to see it before. This one was hiding out on the edge of things at the East/West No overheads run this year. The latest addition in my stable. The 48 with My family in front (before the youngest was born) about 30 years ago. Nice chop and touches on this one that was at the 09 Portland roadster show. I think it belongs to someone here on the Board.
Here are a few pics of mine. Got it a few years ago with a butchered up frame, no interior or wiring. Drove it until said frame cracked and blew it apart. Plan on doing an s10 swap this summer. Wish me luck!!!
