good time to build some notches and fabricate all the brackets on friday afternoon and did the rear suspension on sunday since there is literally nothing in the way, waiting on bushings to fabricate the four bar but I have already built the upper crossmember and bag moutns, looking forward to getting back on building the skeleton for the back half.

I have been working on an additional brace to help the rigidity of the body. My first attempt did not go as planned, but I learned a lot for the second try. I still have more holes to add. My brake isn’t wide enough to make the whole thing in one piece, so I had to try to create two mirror images and weld them together in the middle. IMG_9979.jpeg IMG_9994.jpeg IMG_9997.jpeg

I nearly finished the brace I was making for the body on my ‘31 roadster, and got it mocked up in place. You can see there’s still two holes that aren’t proportional; I just need the extra dimple die to arrive in the mail and do a little fine tuning to get it permanently in place.

Soon to be replaced with this 20240227_200059.jpg

  20. Not much; but hooked up the wiring for the park/turn lights along with connecting the signal wires on column. Now I could cruise the loop with my parking lights on like in the old days except Porky's and the loop are both long gone.

    swap a 47 - 34 2 1/4 drilled forged one for a
    48 36.5 2'' one then!!!
    37 38 39 and 40
are 37.5 then, on the perch.......

that other one must be a chassis engineering early one
or a vintage chassis works to be 37.5 and 47.25 wide, with a 2 1/4 perch boss

  22. I used a 47" CE axle with 35" perch centers on split '37-'40 bones along with a Posies spring and Pete & Jakes shock mounts on my '35 and it all fit together fine.

  28. ...got my 47 AD (yes, 1947) out today to run to next town south of here; on the way I stop'd by this guy's place to see if I could take pics of his cool old shop., been wanting to do this for quite awhile.

We had a nice visit and he showed me the inside of the building, which was built about 1959 out of all used materials....he has a neat collection of old gas cans, signs, tractors, gas pumps, tractor seats, etc.

I limbered up my 51,52,53 Buick pickup to haul some trash and realized I've had her exactly 50 years. 023.JPG
