I'm not knockin' your clock, I think it's cool as hell, but what the hell were MIG jets doing with wind up clocks? Did they have to crank start their turbines?

I've got a "Multipower" 2x2 intake on my flathead, does that count? The previous owner found it in his dad's barn and gave it to me (free, so that probably makes it really rare). That and it'd never been on an engine before.

Here's a pic of one, mine's polished now.

the less they have to spend on timekeeping, the more they can spend on making the mig faster and more maneuverable:p

Well, that's cool....it was obviously cast from an Edmunds mold with the nameplate added.

A guy who was there at the time (and who had no reason to lie about this) told me that many years ago he walked into the foundry where Gene Mooneyham had his casting done, and saw a fresh pile of Mooneyham finned aluminum valve covers. When he looked closely, he realized that Dean Moon had convinced the foundry to make him a batch of Mooneyham valve covers without the "EYHAM" at the end of the name, leaving "MOON".

    How's a on-off Black 7-ball for a shift knob?

That's what's in my '34..made by a for-real pool ball mfg. as a special prize.

There were several intakes in the '50s that differed by name only. I've got what is obviously a Fenton dual intake for 216 Chevies, but instead of "Fenton", it says "Clark Header" on the top. After looking at both Fenton and Edmunds intakes for early Olds and Ford Y blocks, it appears that Fenton bought the Edmunds molds when he went out of it and recast them using the Fenton name. I've got dual quad intakes for '49-'53 Oldsmobiles lying side by side, and the "Fenton" and "Edmunds" logos are the only difference.

I don't know were it would fall in the rare category but I recently bought a 8500 rpm sun tachometer with the red oval on the face and the transmitter for it and both in surprisingly good condition. Also my dad has an old C4 bellhousing that will bolt a C4 to a 429-460.

  11. No worries!
We are RHD in Australia & the LHD manifold dumps where the steering column/box is so we have this manifold that exits in the middle to clear the steering column/box.

The Olds 3-port has 38mm (1.49") inlet and exhaust valves
    The '28 2-port has 43mm (1.69") inlet valves & 42mm (1.65") exhaust valves.

    Cheers

Yes, you're right about Fenton. Here's what I wrote about the company back in 2000 on my site's page about the history of cl***ic racing wheels:

"Fenton five-spoked wheels were inexpensive and not outstanding in any way in their day. Aaron Fenton was a marketing man, whose most notable accomplishments were taking over Don Edmunds' cylinder head and intake manifold company and then shortly thereafter ending all of its production, and providing cheap parts on time to department stores. Fenton wheels have as much prestige as a Spark-O-Matic shifter, and about as much cl*** as your daughter's boyfriend."

I bought an old 33 ch***is to begin my coupe project with. The gentleman I bought it from had started to build a 33 sedan, but ran out of time and abandoned the project. I bought the ch***is 40 or so years later for $300. He didn't remember much about the project, except that the axle was a Dago. Since the car has been on the road, only one person has ever ID'ed the axle as a Dago. Anyway, Im pretty proud to have it.

Hey, thanks for the information. It's not like there are many of these to look at any more, no matter what part of the world you're in. I don't have anything to put the '28 motor it at this time, but it doesn't take up much room, and like I said, they won't be any easier to find five or ten years from now.

I have a bunch of 1950s Edmunds speed parts that are still in boxes. I will be using them soon.

  16. How about a S. Co. T blower on a 53 Cad ElDo eng in a 40 Ford coupe?
and maybe a NOS Crager 471 blower intake?

  27. They are defiantly aircraft wheels, especially if they are WWII period.

  29. Well, my thing is old wheels and quickchanges so I have a few - Halibrand Culver City V8 qc with the 2 ear cover and "Culver City" cast into the case itself as well (apparently very rare) - I also have a few other Halibrand midget rears just in case.

The rare wheels I have are 18x9.5 magnesium Halibrand Indy wheels, I believe circa 1964/5, in the 20+ years I've spent collecting, buying and selling vintage wheels I have never (nor has anyone I've contacted) seen another pair. They have "Thompson SPE" cast into them, leading me to believe they were run on either a Mickey Thompson Indy effort or a Sheraton Thompson Special Indy or Champ effort. They even have qualifying numbers stamped into them so they made the big show!

My newest rarity is the '32 roadster pickup cowl and dash I just found - this one is pretty neat and I've already turned down a few insane offers for it and a gennie '32 firewall that I scrounged for it. Now if I can just find the rest of the cab and the doors :D

On my 63 Meteor. Does this count? It's an old garage door opener. I've also heard the power steering pump is kinda rare.
