    Hi All,
Pulled a 59 Caddy out of a falling down pole barn. As soon as we pulled it out into the open the walls fell in. It fought us all the way, brakes were frozen on. Managed to free up three of them to get it on the trailer. It was last on the road in 1978 and had been in the barn for 30 years. IMG_6882.jpeg IMG_6873.jpeg IMG_6988.jpeg IMG_6987.jpeg

Wow! That was back when cars had 'style.' Nowadays they all look like refrigerators.

That's pretty cool. Flattop, too. Too much is just right.
Too bad about the glass and rear window.

I have found a rear glass. Shipping is the issue. Side glass is easily available. Needs floor pans and rockers. I got it for a very cheap price.

Good save. Those 4-dr hardtops were humongous.

I recall going to an auction in York NE where there was a ‘59 Cadillac 2-door hadtp that came up. Very nice beige/tan. A guy next to us got the winning bid, (can't recall what it was, but not all that much) he says "I don't know what I'm going to do with it and what I'm going to tell the wife" but he seemed very pleased he got it.

Don’t know yet. It’s pretty much complete. It does need a new roof which I’ve already found. I need to see if the engine is locked or not but I do have a rebuilt 59 390 sitting on a stand I was saving for another car.

Nice save. That's still a fixable car. Rough but do-able. And the value of these things seems to go higher by the day. I'm glad this one stayed in one piece, I get sad when I think of how many of these got hacked up to make a*****y couch for someone's basement.

  16. Good save. I love big cars! If they still built cars like that, I wouldn’t drive a pickup truck. That baby gives new meaning to Land Yacht!

Back when class, style and elegance ruled the day! Beautiful cars from the factory.

Dad had a '59 Coupe DeVille, triple pink. Absolutely great road car. Bought used, cost the same as a new falcon at the time, outlasted it by ~3+:1. Overall user-costs were much less, which is why he bought it(salesman on the road). MN rust monster finally took its' toll on the body, even the fins rotted out., ;( , still drove well.

Actually, yes. Color wasn't in the top 10 choices, but car was available, right price, etc. I suppose it was actually more of a very light coral, but we just called it pink, & it didn't look bad, not garish, sorta subdued, well, as subdued as sorta-pink can get... :D . Body, roof, & interior, although I think the carpets were a dark black. & floor mats an off-white. & chrome everywhere... Came as a trade-in at the Caddie dealer in town, so...

Always a toss-up 'twixt the smooth flowing roofs, or the flying*****ress(aka; flying roof, flattop, etc) types. Liked 'em both.
