I have a solid straight front axle and would like to add a panhard bar to it what is the best way to do this ? Do I just drill a hole in it or is there a bracket to do this ? Drilling a hole seems like is wouyweaken the axle to me. Any advice would be appreciated.

What is the car? You probably need a Bat wing bracket and a frame bracket. Some Bat wings have the mount built in. What Axle and Spindles do you have? Pictures are very helpful.

I don’t have the car here so no pictures. It’s a speedway 4” solid drop axle kit from speedway with split wishbones on a model a frame speedway spindles

Some have drilled a hole in the axle without a problem. Some will weld a bracket on the right side bone.

If you drill a hole in the axle of a tube axle, you have to weld a small block on the axle as the threaded hole in the axle is not strong enough to handle the push/pull of the pan hard rod. A small block of metal should be threaded so that makes for a strong set-up that will last many miles.

Most side steer applications don’t require a Panhard bar.

I welded a tab on my batwing on the p*** side and made a spring clamp plate with an arm as far to the DS as I could, similar to how Ford did it in the last solid axle years.
