Projects 51 Chevy 3100 project

Been a long time since I posted to this thread...
This is not a truck update but a pup update. Over the past year, we lost all three of our dogs, each one special and a character in its own unique way. So, it was time to search for a new one.

We were initially looking for a young adult dog from local Rescue centers, but we couldn't resist when one of the shelters had a couple of beagle mix (not sure what) puppies. I am happy to say she has been working out very well!

Anyways, here is a pic of her checking out the old truck.

 

I found this Ipe hardwood locally from a guy who was taking apart a deck. Milled the boards, offset the four washer/bolt combination and finished with several coats of Tung oil. Came out much better than I could have imagined.

 

Wow, Cosmo, that did come out really nice. I hear that Ipe is very hard to cut with a regular saw blade - should make an excellent pickup bed!
