Just saw a newer show that is called Faster With Newbern and Cotten. used to be called Faster With Finnegan, who was part of Roadkill team with David Freiburger. they .modified a stock Model A into a Hot Rod. yes, used some OT stuff. this was a set up to "race" famous NHRA driver Clay Millican, in a 90's street rod sedan. was interesting to watch, and could help others to build a Hot Rod. yes, they have resources, connections and skill above low budget guys. but, fun to watch. 20240319_200012.jpg

That car badly needs a reverse eye front spring, but the episode was entertaining.

I watched that last night. I could hang out with those guys! Newburn lives somewhere in north GA where they film the shop stuff, I think Cotten lives in MI? They were great with Finnegan, and will do well just the two of them.

The only problem I have with Motor Trend TV is their schedule, stuff floats around so much and in no kind of order. You get used to watching something one night a week, next thing you know, something else is in its place. And a “ season “ for them is six shows? Strange. You’d think it would be at least double that.

Still better than 99% of the other channels I get on Dish network…

Cotten lives in Illinois but he's actually closer to St. Louis, Mo.

Seasons for MT+ originals that were originally made for the web format are either 12 or 6 episodes. It used to be they would put an episode out each month, then they changed to this weekly format for 6 weeks, and if it's a 12-episode show it takes a break then airs the other 6 later. It's a ***bersome format, and with the changes they've made there are big gaps. Some months I get 6+ episodes of stuff I watch, and at least 3-4 months of the year I get just 1.

Sounds like a must see show . I’m a big fan of Finnegan and Freiburger and true gearheads. I have been reading their articles in magazines for years before TV was the thing.
In fact Freiburger was on the Hamb when he was building his 32 sedan.

Get a recorder and set it for the show you want to watch and select"new episodes" only. Then you can keep the shows you like and watch them at your convenience. You can skip thru the commercials too. You can save a lot of good tech info with one of the recorders. Commercials on many shows have gotten excessive. I took note the other night while watching a recording. It shows the time when you fast forward. The commercial was 5 minutes long.........and there were lots of them.......expecially near the end of whatever you are watching.

I recorded it. Looking forward to watching it. Saw these guys a number of times on Finnigan's show. Hot Rod Garage old co-host Tony Angelo has a new show starting tonight.

The only good thing about commercials is without commercials you have no show.

    Hello,

Before you set your recording digital tv shows with “new episodes only,” remember that if there are any old shows of the ***le selected, then they will not be recorded. One has to go through the information page to see which shows are available per section of the USA and possibly record those. But, you will not get the automatic recordings of old shows. Only “new” ones.

    For example:

The Hot Rod Garage shows with the two mechanics Lucky Costa and Tony Angelo are still available. But one will not record any of those due to the fact the Lucky Costa and Alex Taylor have now taken over the new episodes per season. So, “new shows only” will record Lucky Costa and Alex Taylor shows only.

The topics are new and some are updated old shows with references to the older shows from past seasons.

Since the past seasons are still posted on various days/weeks, they will remain unrecorded unless one selects “record all shows.” Then new and old will be recorded for your viewing pleasure. Our local cable company has upgraded the black box hard drive from a measly amount in the old days to a larger one that barely s****es recorded shows of any kind. We have a lot of recorded shows we cannot see on streaming channels, so the fast forward ****on gets its usage. Don’t worry about filling up the recorded shows on the black box. There is plenty of room for daily recording and saving.

If you read the information posted on your home screen, the upper area tells you how much of space you have recorded and how much is left. We have over 30 shows recorded of all sorts of programs and the listed information says we have used 3% of the capacity. That is large, but, minimal overall. Back a few years ago, it would have topped out the hard drive in those black boxes. A good thing for digital adventures. Small but, powerful… YRMV

    Note:
If the any show has been on long enough, over the years, you have to watch out for other oddball channels to show reruns of old seasons. So, if the current show is on channel 4, as you select the recording photo for information, it might have listed another obscure channel running very old shows, despite clicking on "new shows only." So, check to see if the selection says the current channel for information and recording.

What show are you talking about about? I've seen nothing mentioned by him.

I'm well aware. I watch it often. The guy said that Tony had a new show starting, which is most likely false.
