1956 Fords did not come equipped with factory seat belts which did not become mandatory in the U.S.A. until 1964. However, someone with more knowledge than I regarding '56 Fords correctly indicated that they were available that year as an option.

Not required in 56 but they were an option.

In my opinion, Julianos is overpriced. I bought belts from them and they just resold another brand with a 100% mark-up. I believe these are the same belts they sell and much cheaper, plus they look more original. https://www.seatbeltsplus.com/product/1800-60.html

Thanks which one is suitable for 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria I could not find the option also they are 60" long, I checked Dennis Carpenter they sell universal belts which are 73" length do you think 60" would be sufficient.

I bought shorter belts for my 55 and found out if you are larger (?) or short and need to move the seat forward then the longer belts are required. You can always tighten a longer belt but it's hard to stretch a short belt! Mark

Seat belt Planet has lots of colors and styles. I had some custom belts made using my buckles and fabric (because i wanted a special color)and they did a great job

Seat Belt Planet in Oklahoma. They are a manufufacturer...and they have old hook-style units and bolts like original equipment.

I stand corrected. I am into '52-'54 Fords and Mercurys and the Factory Accessory Booklets for both makes do not list seat belts as an option. I ***umed (incorrectly) that the same was true for '56. Judging from that '56 Ford ad it looks like Ford finally got on the safety "bandwagon" that year. I guess that I should limit my advise to '52-'54 Fords and Mercurys in the future!

The belts I bought are in the back seat so length isn't as much of an issue.
I just measured the original belts that came in my car and they are about 77 inches total length which should be long enough for any normal size person. I am 6 ft 200 lbs and they fit me fine with plenty of belt left over. I did go out to lunch with a plus size woman I worked with and the seat belt wouldn't fit around her, a little awkward.

I second seatbelts plus or seat belts planets. You can order swatches to check the color before you buy. I got a few blues from swatches from them as one company doesn't carry the same blues as the other. I do use Julianos for the anchor mount them make albeit you can easily cut and weld them up your self.

    Hi,

    I found these:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/324802056752

But the length is 62.25" Buckle end do you think it is ok for 1956 Ford Victoria ?

In the compatibility chart it says that it fits but what about the length ?

As far as I remember the original one was 74" I guess, what do you think guys ?
