I doubt there'll be skinny dipping at The Blue Hole. It was rather crowded the time I was there

Always good to see you Jim plus it looks like you are having a lot of fun. As for word games...it said 'chop top'........I would have to tie some porkchops to the top......I think that would align with the Lemons Rally spirit of patented dumbness....

Your co-pilot cardboard cutout in post #1 is 'Linc Case' played by Glen Corbett in season 3-4.
'Buz Murdock' was played by George Maharis.

If he took a right turn, he may end up at Pismo Beach.

That pork chop suggestion for chop-top-for-a-day is clever.

Great to see the vette out and doing what it was made for.

    Cheers,

  14. Jim made it to Amarillo. Went looking for him tonight and amazingly found him at my first stop.......the Big Texan. Nice shaking hands with another forum friend, and was happy he spent a bit of time with me just shootin' the breeze. I've got a pic...just need to figure out the posting.

  18. What a great trip! We missed you by a day in Amarillo, I took the family to Colorado Springs last week and we traveled home to Fort Worth on Friday.

  21. I just spent some time on the interwebs looking for the Jericho Gap location. It says on your sheet Clarendon TX but that’s pretty far south on 287. Was it near I-40? Just curious why they included Clarendon on the instructions.

  22. Bummer the Pony Bridge (east of Weatherford OK)is closed for renovations. Longest bridge on 66.

Here’s my kiddo when we stopped at Lucille’s in Hinton, Ok on the Hot Rod Hundred reliability run a couple years ago. We were driving my old 39 Ford. IMG_2479.jpeg IMG_2481.jpeg

Made it to okc! It's cold and a little wet, but I still have the top down. Stop in Bethany.

  24. Jim, you luckily missed a classic Texas MUD STORM by a day.
I also have no idea what the Jerricho Gap thing is, and was also surprised they had Clarendon on the list.it's 60 miles south of I40 on 287.

I was wondering if you were going to take a southern route on your return trip.
Big Spring used to have a great BBQ restaurant and they had complementary homemade vanilla ice cream for desert
    Safe motoring

  27. Dang brother did you stay in Fort Worth last night? You could have crashed our guest room for free and put the Vette in the garage....

Also, I've taken the route through Roswell and Alamogordo NM from DFW to AZ and it's a lot prettier. It would be worth it if you're not in a big hurry.

The northern route may take a bit longer, but is much less boring...and you avoid El Paso.

Thru Roswell NM, the space aliens can get you home quicker. Plus the space aliens are HAMB friendly since all their stuff is pre 1965.
