Can you imagine having that as your shop door?

that door was never on Roths shop nor did he paint it. That door was painted by my friend Bill Michaelson back in the 90's and was on his shop. One year when Roth was here for the car show Bill talked him into coming over and autographing it. That is it.... Bill passed away in 07 and his shitty xwife made up that story and sold that door for too much money. it is all a lie

    Oh that's too bad.

    And yes, thanks to Mark.
I'm sure there's stuff Mark doesn't know, but I imagine not in the realm of Roth.

I would think if such a piece was real It would be in Roth's museum.

Just got off the phone with Randy from Donley auctions. He was surprised to say the least. He took my name and number. He told me someone from Volo was going to be calling me

The Auction Company and Volo will be pissed but..... right is right.

  17. That is the good thing about posting
    upcoming auction information
on a public forum in a timely manner.

I am grateful to those that posted
    here and for the discussion.

Mark, thanks for the history lesson. Glad to hear you followed up and that it sounds like the company is going to try confirming this. Auction houses often have a reputation at or below used car salesman. Good to see that perhaps this one is trying to rise above.
Jim, thanks for posting, and causing this to be discussed.

  21. I messaged Moriarty.
    I called the auction company.
    The auction company is having
an auction today so they are busy.
I called and spoke with one of the
gals and left a detailed message
    along with my phone number.

I talked with Greg Grams yesterday
morning and he told me he bought
    an atomic bomb ...

    IMG_0195.jpeg

Greg has been my good friend for years.

I did some research on the auction
company and ran across the upcoming
Roth door auction and thought it might
be of interest to members so I started
    this thread.

It is better (in my opinion) to have
this discussion now before the auction.

    Greg Grams and Volo Museum
    along with the auction company
    will do what is right.

Thanks again to all who have
    taken the time to comment.

Ed Roth signed that door in 1993. Can we assume that picture they show in the video was when it hung in Bill Michaelson's shop? Ed moved to Utah in 1988, I believe.

Bill offered to buy Roth breakfast in exchange for him coming over and autographing the door. Roth was in town because he was here for the car show. Roth also drew the cartoon balloons with the sayings in them with a sharpie. that is the only time Roth was near that door.....

Here is a picture that I took in 2000. I had just been to the chrome shop and picked up the rear end housing for the Futurian, I stopped at Billys place to show it to him. (that is him seated in the pic) you can see part of that door in the picture. I also sent this to Donley auctions
