Art & Inspiration What color motor looks best in a maroon car?

This gets my vote!

 

I used Hugger Orange on mine but it matches the wheels and grill, caught a lot of flack from my friends when I told them the color combo.

 

I agree, that gold looks fantastic.
On my '40 I opted for stock Olds color.

Red and orange stand out nice on maroon cars. Gold can look good with any color hot rod if nicely detailed like Moriaritys 40 you posted.

Maroon flathead in my maroon roadster. It hard to see the forest for the trees evidently, take my word, it's maroon.

henna color you like as long as you paint the firewall an off white

Our motor builder took the liberty to paint ours red. I would have done something different but this project is a father/son build and pops part was the motor and trans.

 

I vote gold first, black second...

Since maroon is my 'bucket list' color when/if I paint something, I've previously given this some thought.
It may not be everyone's cup of tea but brown is what is speaking to me the loudest. I'm leaning towards the left side of this chart...... maybe even a step or two into a strong, warm tan.

"Cast iron" is a great color.
Most big box store carry it. Many of my cars engines have been painted with it.

Pontiac metallic blue. But then you would probably need to put a Pontiac engine in the car, which isn’t a bad idea in itself…
