Fellas, I need a little help…. I tried to save a few bucks and bought carbs off of EBay. I didn’t realize the carbs had the “ball sockets” type connectors for the linkage. Does anyone have a photo of how they made this work? Any help would be appreciated.
Great to see another Y block! So I guess that is a "truck" style water pump with the raised fan mount? Neat. I'm running the same manifold on my 292, not the best for performance but works until I can afford a better one.
My ACE hardware sell ball linkage ends with female threads. I threaded some rods. I believe some on the net sell double ended ones.
I tried to save a buck and the rods look like plastic. They are also not the typical round with flat edge shape.
This guy sells all the pieces to do what you are looking to do. Really nice hardware pieces https://www.noblespeedequipment.com/
this is the type that goes on those fittings, not as easy to find anymore https://thirdgenauto.com/product/1935-39-ford-10-5-accelerator-to-carburetor-linkage/ Are those the actual carbs in the photo above ? The other end probably takes the flat type of arm, but without a photo it is hard to say exactly what you have. You could remove what you have and use this type, depending on your setup
