    Hey guys,
I picked up a 1936 chevy low cab today. It had been disassembled for the last 20 years or so. The previous owner had plans to restore it ect…

my question is, what is the frame and body worth? It is very solid no rust or rot. What parts from this one are valuable? Trying to make a decision to sell it all complete or part it out.

They don't have to be all purdy to be cool. Pictured was my wife's '36 back in 2001. It sported a 324 Olds and Cad LaSalle sideshift tranny, hooked to a Chrysler rear. Drove great. When she bought it, the rear had been lowered with 6" blocks and the front had a severely dropped axle. Joe bought it from the original owner and the name "E.G. James Glass Shop" was still visible on the original paint.. Nancy's 36 003.JPG

Mine is much worse than that. My fenders are beat, and the cab isn't much better. Things are different in AZ than they are in WI. I realize parting out this old stuff can probably get you more $$, but I always cringe at the idea. I'd like to save as many as possible for use again, despite not getting as big of a return on my $$. When they are that nice & get parted out, one more never sees the street again.

What makes it a low cab?

  8. The height of the cab. The '36 had a change in the cab midway through the year where the height of the cab was lowered.

Doors went from three hinges to two hinges. '37-'38 cabs are very similar, I believe the windshield area is slightly different. Good steel fenders are to come by, and the grill will be expensive!

The high-cabs have a squared off look to the rear roofline. Low cabs are rounded.
