I think it looks pretty awesome with the pinstriped flames and the flat black.

Those would go pretty well with it....can barely see it ....but it got a bobbing head devil guy smiling out the back window...with some flame stickers on the bottom of the rear window

I like the car with flames, or with out. It's the overall look that i dig.
Grey would be cool too. I have two 'primer' black rods and liked that look before it was 'the norm', but it's also nice to see something a little different.

As far as the headers, i don't think you could go wrong either way.

I'm not sure i'd do maltese crosses though. As much as i like that logo, it's been done so much i'm not sure it would do anything for the car..

    just my 2 cents though..

I think you'd make a statement just by driving that!
I mean it too. Anyone who see it is gonna take notice.

Here's some advice givin to me a little while ago, "less is more."
yeah, simple i know, but it's pretty good i think.

Lay off the gimmicks, let the car speak for itself.
Sometime's we do things to our cars we think is kickass, but in reality, all we did was take away from the whole picture..

I've always wanted flames on one of my cars. But everytime i'm done with one, i don't do it only because i think it will draw attention away from the car as a whole and bring too much attention to the flames..
It's the whole package thats making the statement..
And i personally like the statement your C-dan makes..

Whatever upgrades you decide it really looks sweet good luck and keep posting pics

  23. I'd go with thinner taller rear tires. Something about the larger ass end on it seems just ever so slightly out of proportion with the rear tires. If not thinner - just taller. I like the earlier use of red. But i agree either old or new it's a GREAT car. Looks mean.

Forget the iron cross I totally agree they're wayyyy over done. If you want to play with the paint more try playing with other symbols or words or graphics that have meaning to you or that just look cool to you. Something original. You can't make a statement with a statement that's already been made. ya know?

I really like the look of that "been painted by a garage or a racer 30 years ago and its been weathered or repainted and then sanded and maybe repainted and sanded a few more times". But those flames look cool too. I like that you played them up along the top. Adds an original style somehow. Not sure I've seen that to much or before.

But I agree with everyone else - you really got it right. The stance the proportions. All your doing now is just combing it's hair! lol! won't matter what you do - it's going to look like a badass!

Instead of flames, how about some scallops? They tend to accentuate natural body lines instead of detracting.

Your headers look fine the way they are, but I vote you bring back the old red stacks for your carbs.

    thanks for the info....
been trying to come up with a way of adding a name to it....my dad had a 32 sedan back when he was a kid that was an ex-drag car...Had "Mister Meaner" painted on the doors....would like to incorporate the name somehow....
i like the red stacks too...but even less vision...and no air cleaners.....we'll see though...

  26. I'd say repaint in glossier black....and then basically detail the engine up in chrome and Cherry red metallic....add some laker headers in chrome....or maybe just a semi gloss one colour layout with black and chrome engine....

Looks damn good now, iron crosses and such might just make it look tacky.

    Cheers

i'm sure you're bored with it by now, you need to sell it to me and use the money to start another project! [IMG]

  30. That car looks so good, It'd be hard to fuck it up. If it were mine, I'd flame it, slightly smaller than what you have on it, and I'd make the zoomies come down then sweep back up.
