Hey guys I have a 1985 5.0,2 barrel 2150 with the TV rod to the AOD. I thinking of putting a small holley 390- 460 cfm on. I talked to holley about an adapter for the TV rod. They offer one for the c4/c6 but not specifically the AOD. Has anyone used a similar swap with an AOD and TV rod and it work properly. Thanks for any input you have.

I can't speak to the Holley setup but Lokar has an adapter/bracket for the AOD tv cable and accelerator cable (Lokar TCB-40DQ). I'm using it with my 87 5.0 with AOD and edelbrock 1405.

I have a 302/AOD combo with a Holley 2 barrel in my 'Ranch Wagon. It came out of a '83ish van. I couldn't get the van TV rod to fit in the wagon so I went with a Lokar cable. Only problem is that the Lokar cable doesn't work with the 2 barrel. I had to make a bracket to extend the cable mount to locate it as if I was using a 4 barrel Holley. It worked well enough for a trans shop to set the pressures. I then pulled the engine and trans and sent to wagon to body shop hell so no photos nor do I know how well the adaption will work over time.

Thanks guys, it looks like the lokar kit has work in each case. I'm going to Moultrie Ga. tomorrow for a weekend swap meet car show. I have seen a Quick Fuel by Holley that says it is compatible with the tv rod. I hope I'll be able to check one out tomorrow.
    Thanks again

Hey guys thought I would put and ending with this discussion. I picked up the Quick Fuel 450 cfm four barrel at the car show. I had to modify my throttle cable bracket no big deal. Had to modify my pressure regulator bracket also no big deal. I even had to modify the supplied return spring bracket for the trans lever. I did a little tweeting to the tv rod for alignment purposes and all is well.
The 2 barrel that came on the car always gave me problems. It was a no name after market 2150 look alike. Hesitation, stumble and slightly erratic idle. This Quick fuel out of the box fire right up after getting gas to it. Lowered the fast idle some and the idle, haven't touched anything else yet. This thing hasn't idled this smooth with no hesitation since I've had the car. It now drives like a new car, after all it only has 456 miles on it.

I like the Quick Fuel Slayer series carbs. Good out of the box performance and alot of tuning options.
